The SK1 is a torque limiting coupling that can help prevent damage to driving and driven components by providing a fast, reliable disconnect between them at preset torque levels.
The frictional clamping connection provides for absolutely backlash free operation. Made from high strength, hardened steel, the SK1 is a torsionally rigid, maintenance free solution that reduces downtime.
It is self adjusting with low residual friction following disengagement (Disengagement within 1-3 msecs). With a simple, compact design, this coupling is well suited for applications where space is restricted.
Once the torque limit it met, the SK1 disengages within one to three milliseconds. This is generally much faster than electronic solutions that typically have reaction times between fifteen and seventeen milliseconds.
Faster response times translate to less wear and tear on drive and driven components, which saves on downtime and expenses.
