The SK2 is a torque limiting coupling that provides a fast, reliable disconnect between drive, and driven components at preset (Adjustable) torque levels.
The frictional clamping connection provides for absolutely backlash free operation. Clamping hubs are easily mounted with one radial screw (ISO 4762) each. They are made from aluminum up to series 80, series 150 and up are steel.
Made from high strength, hardened steel, the torque limiting portion delivers precise, reliable overload protection.
The bellows are made of highly elastic stainless steel and compensate for shaft misalignment.
This coupling will deliver a long maintenance free service life while operated within the technical specifications.
It is an electrically and thermally insulated, low inertia, torsionally rigid solution. Once the torque limit it met, the SK2 disengages within one to three milliseconds. This is generally much faster than electronic solutions that typically have reaction times between fifteen and seventeen milliseconds.
Faster response times translate to less wear and tear on equipment, which saves on downtime and expenses. The actuation moves upon disengagement and can be used to trigger an external switch or sensor.
